A vacancy in an office shall result from the happening of any
event listed in § 17.24, Wis. Stats.
A.
Elected officials. A vacancy in any elective office may be filled
by appointment of a majority of the members of the Village Board for
the residue of the unexpired term or until a special election is held
pursuant to § 17.24(2), Wis. Stats. A Trustee may be appointed
to fill an unexpired term of a vacated Village President.
B.
Appointed officials. A vacancy in an appointive office shall be filled
in the same manner as the original appointment.
Temporary vacancies resulting from incapacity or absence of
any Village official may be filled by appointment by the Village Board.
