[HISTORY: Adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Grafton as Title 10, Ch. 10.72, of the 1979 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
This chapter shall be enforced in accordance with the provisions of §§ 345.20 to 345.53, Ch. 299 and § 66.0114, Wis. Stats.

Every officer accepting a forfeit penalty or money deposit under this title shall receipt therefor as provided in § 345.26(3)(b), Wis. Stats. Every officer accepting a stipulation under the provisions of this title shall comply with the provisions of §§ 343.27, 343.28 and 345.26(1)(a), Wis. Stats., and shall require the alleged violator to sign a statement of notice in substantially the form contained on the uniform traffic citation and complaint promulgated under § 345.11, Wis. Stats.
Any officer accepting deposits of forfeited penalties under this chapter shall deliver them to the Village Clerk within 20 days after receipt. Any officer authorized to accept deposits under § 345.26, Wis. Stats., or this title shall qualify by taking the oath prescribed by § 19.01, Wis. Stats., and filing an official bond in the sum of $25,000 as described in § 19.01, Wis. Stats.
The uniform traffic citation promulgated under § 345.11, Wis. Stats., shall be used for all moving traffic violations under this title.

A. 
Citations for all nonmoving traffic violations under this chapter shall conform to § 345.28, Wis. Stats., and shall permit direct mail payment of the applicable minimum forfeiture to the Grafton Police Department within five days of the issuance of the citation in lieu of court appearance. The issuing officer shall specify thereon the amount of the applicable forfeiture as provided in this title.
B. 
No officer or Village authority shall be personally or officially responsible for payment of any dishonored check in payment of any forfeiture.
C. 
If the alleged violator fails to pay the amount of the forfeiture as provided herein or to appear in court within 28 days after the issuance of a nonmoving traffic citation, the Chief of Police may take any or all of the actions authorized under § 345.28, Wis. Stats.
