A.
Adoption. There is hereby adopted by the City of Kennett, Missouri, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the construction, alteration, removal and maintenance of electric wiring and apparatus, including permits and penalties, that certain electric code known as the National Electric Code promulgated and adopted by the National Fire Protection Association, being particularly the 2005 Edition thereof, and any subsequent edition of said Code, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified, or amended, of which not less than three (3) copies have been and now are filed in the office of the City Clerk of Kennett, Missouri, and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the construction, alteration, maintenance or removal of all electric wiring and apparatus within the corporate limits of the City of Kennett, Missouri.
B.
Amendments. The 2005 National Electrical Code as adopted by the City of Kennett is hereby amended by adding the following, to wit:
No aluminum wiring shall be used within any structure, with the exception that aluminum wiring may be used from the meter base to the main panel. Aluminum wire may be used outside a building for service, provided it is one (1) size larger than the required size for copper.
