The proper officers of Springfield Township are hereby authorized and directed to do all acts necessary and proper to establish, implement and enforce a standardized system of property address numbering to be in compliance with the requirements of the ALI (automatic location information) needs of the Mercer County Enhanced 911 System.

Each building to which a street number has been assigned shall have such number on a background of contrasting color and displayed in a position easily observed and readable from the public right-of-way (which shall include the marking of driveways or freestanding mailboxes where conditions necessitate). All numbers shall be in Arabic numerals or alphabet letters which shall be at least four inches (102 mm) high and 1/2 inch (13 mm) wide and of contrasting color.
It shall be the obligation of the owners of the property to which numbers are being assigned to comply with the standards set by this chapter as directed by the proper officers of Springfield Township.
A properly verified copy of the address numbering system shall be reported and delivered by the municipality to proper officers of Mercer County Enhanced 911.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $300 and costs of prosecution and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to undergo imprisonment for not more than 30 days.
