3, § 3.08, of the 1990 Code)]
There is hereby created the Municipal Court for the Village
of Footville.
There is hereby created the office of Municipal Judge for the
Village of Footville.
The Municipal Judge shall be elected at large at the spring
election commencing with the April 1968 election and every even-numbered
year thereafter for a term of four years commencing on May 1 succeeding
his election.
The Municipal Judge shall receive a salary as determined by the Village Board, which shall be in lieu of fees and costs. No salary shall be paid to the Judge for any time during his term for which he has not executed and filed his official bond and oath as required by §
22-5.
The Municipal Judge shall execute and file the oath prescribed
by statute and a bond in the penal sum as may be set from time to
time by the Village Board.
The Municipal Judge shall have such jurisdiction as provided
by law and the Wisconsin Statutes and exclusive jurisdiction of violations
of Village ordinances.

The Municipal Judge may impose a forfeiture for contempt under
this article herein in an amount not to exceed $200, together with
such fees and costs as are prescribed in Chapter 814, Wis. Stats.,
and upon nonpayment of the forfeiture, may impose any remedy prescribed
in § 800.095, Wis. Stats.
As used in this article, the following term shall have the meaning
indicated:
CONTEMPT OF COURT
Shall have the same meaning as provided in § 785.01,
Wis. Stats.

The Municipal Judge presiding in an action or proceeding may
impose a forfeiture upon a person who commits a contempt of court
in the actual presence of the court. The Judge shall impose the forfeiture
immediately after the contempt of court and only for the purpose of
preserving order in the court and protecting the authority and dignity
of the court.
All other contempt of court proceedings in Municipal Court shall
follow the procedures set forth in § 785.03, Wis. Stats.
