[Adopted as Ch. 3, § 3.02, of the 1990 Code]
The manner of the selection of the offices of Village Clerk
and Village Treasurer of the Village of Footville is a matter uniquely
relating to the local affairs and government of the Village of Footville
and therefore shall be henceforth consistent with this Charter Ordinance
and all general laws or enactments of the legislature concerning such
manner of selection shall be not applicable to the said Village of
Footville.
Effective with the expiration of the present elective terms
of the offices of Village Clerk and Village Treasurer on May 1, 1987,
such offices shall thereafter be filled by appointment by the Village
Board and not by election by the voters. The term of office of Clerk
and Treasurer shall continue to be two years with persons serving
in such appointive offices to serve until their respective successors
are appointed and qualify.
