The Village of Oakfield Board of Trustees is desirous of changing
the residency requirements of appointed Village officials, such as
the Clerk-Treasurer, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, Superintendent of Public
Works, and Public Works Maintenance Worker. All full-time appointed
officials are required to be residents of Genesee County, New York.
All part-time appointed officials, including the Zoning Board members,
Zoning Officer, Code Officer, and Planning Board members, are required
to be residents of the Village of Oakfield or Town of Oakfield in
Genesee County, New York.
The Village Board has the power to change the residency requirements
of the above-mentioned officials [Village Law § 3-300, Subdivision
2(a), Eligibility for election or appointment to, and continuance
in office] in accordance with Village Law.
