For the purposes of this chapter, the Town of Monroe is hereby
divided into the following classes of districts:
A.
Residence districts:
(1)
OSR-3 Open Space Residential District.
(2)
RR-1 Rural Residential District.
(3)
SR-20 Suburban Residential District (20,000-square-foot lot with
central sewer).
(4)
SR-15 Suburban Residential District (15,000-square-foot lot with
central sewer).
(5)
SR-10 Suburban Residential District (10,000-square-foot lot with
central sewer).
(6)
UR-M Urban Residential-Multifamily District.
A.
The boundaries of each zoning district is hereby established as shown
on the Zoning Map of the Town of Monroe, dated June 2017, which map
may be amended from time to time.[1] Said map and all changes contained therein are hereby
incorporated and declared to be part of this Zoning Chapter. The Zoning
Map of the Town of Monroe dated December 7, 1999, as amended from
time to time, is hereby superseded in its entirety by the aforementioned
Zoning Map.

B.
The district boundary lines, unless shown otherwise, are intended
generally to follow street corner lines, railroad right-of-way lines,
reservoirs, lakes or other bodies of water, watercourses, lot lines
or boundaries of subdivisions or Town boundary lines or the straight-line
projections of such lines, all as shown on the Zoning Map. Where a
district boundary line does not follow such a line, its position is
shown on the Zoning Map by a specific dimension expressing its distance
in feet from such a street center line or other boundary line as indicated.
C.
In case of uncertainty as to the true location of a district boundary line in a particular instance, the determination thereof shall be made by the Building Inspector. An appeal may be taken to the Board of Appeals as provided in § 57-64.
D.
