No person shall engage in the business of massage and/or reflexology in the Village of Fox Crossing without a permit obtained from the Village Clerk and payment of the permit fee. The permit shall in no way be construed to affect existing or future zoning or land use.
Every person operating a massage therapy and/or reflexology practice shall apply for a permit. The applicant must hold a current, valid license issued by the Department of Safety and Professional Services and provide such document upon application. Application shall be made in writing on a form provided by the Village Clerk prior to conducting business within the Village of Fox Crossing. The application shall contain the name and home address of the therapist, name, address and the person in charge of the business where therapist will practice, along with any information pertinent to the granting of the permit. The therapist agrees to conform to all requirements outlined in the Village of Fox Crossing Municipal Code, including this chapter, and adopted by reference and made a part of this chapter under the provisions of Ch. 460, Wis. Stats.
Fees are as stated in the Village Fee Schedule. A permit fee for each massage therapy therapist and reflexology therapist shall be required at time of application. A background check shall be executed by the Village of Fox Crossing Police Department and a yearly inspection shall be conducted by the Village of Fox Crossing Fire Department. Permit shall be from July 1 to June 30 each year.
A conditional use permit must be obtained if the massage/reflexology therapist performs treatments in his/her home. If he/she performs treatments in his/her client's residence, a conditional use permit is not needed.
Failure to obtain a massage and/or reflexology therapist permit shall be assessed a penalty set forth in Chapter A450, Fines and Penalties, reference this Code section, per day.
