A.
Designation. The Code Official/Fire Marshal's Office shall require
and designate public or private fire lanes as deemed necessary for
the efficient and effective operation of fire apparatus. Fire lanes
shall have a minimum width of 18 feet.
B.
Obstructions. Designated fire lanes shall be maintained free of obstructions
and vehicles and shall be marked with freestanding signs and/or marked
curbs, sidewalks, or other traffic surfaces that have the words "Fire
Lane–No Parking" painted in contrasting colors at a size and
spacing approved by the Code Official/Fire Marshal's Office.
C.
Fire lanes established.
(1)
The Code Official/Fire Marshal's Office will establish and indicate
designated fire lanes.
(2)
The following locations are designated as fire lanes:
(a)
All driveways of the Stonewood Village Apartments, 300 Walnut
Street.
(b)
All driveways of the Stoney Creek Apartments, 410 East Hinckley
Avenue.
(c)
All of the driveway/street at Hancock Street and Harrison Avenue,
Ridley Park Swim Club.
(d)
Alleyway in the unit block of Chester Pike, Swarthmore Avenue
to Sellers Avenue.
(e)
Driveway of 100 Morton Avenue, Ridley Manor Apartments.
(f)
All of the alleys behind the homes, both even and odd side,
of 400 block of North Swarthmore Avenue.
(g)
Alley behind the 100 block of Poplar Walk.
(h)
Alley behind the unit block of East Rodgers Street.
(i)
Alleyway behind the 500 block of Hinkson Boulevard.
(j)
Alley behind the 100 and 200 block of Henderson Avenue, from
Rosemont Avenue to Myrtle Avenue.
(k)
All of McCoach Street.
(l)
All of Birch Street.
(m)
Johnson Avenue from Kane Street to and including driveway of
Taylor Hospice, 300 Johnson Avenue.
(n)
Driveway of 611 North Swarthmore Avenue, from Swarthmore Avenue
east.
(o)
All driveways of Taylor Hospital.
(p)
Rear lot/driveway of St. Madeline's School.
(q)
All rear driveways/alleys in the 300 block of Comerford Terrace.
(r)
Ridley Middle School driveway and loading dock driveway.
(s)
Trainer Street.
(t)
Ketchum Road.
(u)
Cul-de-sac in the 200 block of West Ridley Avenue.
(v)
Fire lane required by Zoning Hearing Board decision at 600 Chester
Pike, U-Haul.
(w)
Private driveway at 131 Dutton Street, Dutton Place Apartments.
(x)
Any other areas/streets deemed necessary by the Fire Marshal's
Office.
D.
Fire lane making. The Ridley Park Fire Marshal's Office shall
issue notice of fire lane markings indicating signage and painting
requirements.
A fine of $20 is hereby established for the violation hereof.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting with the provisions
of this chapter are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
