The purpose of this chapter is to prohibit and/or regulate certain activities on public property in the Borough of Edgewater, including property owned and/or operated by the Borough of Edgewater Board of Education.
The following words and phrases, whenever used in this chapter, shall be construed as hereinafter set out, unless it shall be apparent from the context that they have a different meaning:
MUNICIPAL PROPERTY
Property owned and/or operated by the Borough of Edgewater.
PUBLIC PROPERTY
Property owned and/or operated by any public entity within the territorial jurisdiction of the Borough of Edgewater, and shall include but not be limited to school property and municipal property.
SCHOOL PROPERTY
Property owned and/or operated by the Borough of Edgewater Board of Education.

The following activities shall be prohibited within the Borough of Edgewater at the following locations:
A. 
Smoking on all property owned or operated by the Borough of Edgewater or the Borough of Edgewater Board of Education.
B. 
School property:
(1) 
Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages.
(2) 
Use of skateboards, in-line skates or roller skates.
(3) 
Dog walking.
(4) 
Presence on school property after dark, unless attending an event approved by the Board of Education.
(5) 
Bike riding.
Failure to comply with any of the requirements of this chapter shall be punishable as provided for in Chapter 1, Article II, General Penalty, of the Borough Code.
