No person shall propel, ride or operate a bicycle upon the streets or public highways of this Village, unless such bicycle shall:
A. 
Comply with the requirements of §§ 346.77 to 346.82, Wis. Stats., adopted and made a part hereof by reference, relating to the equipment of bicycles.
B. 
Be equipped with a brake in good working condition, adequate to control the movement of and to stop such bicycle whenever necessary.
A. 
It shall be unlawful to operate any bicycle upon the streets or public highways of this Village when equipped with a siren or whistle.
B. 
It shall be unlawful to operate any bicycle upon the streets or public highways of this Village, which has been structurally altered and is considered by the Police Department to be unsafe in operation.

No person shall propel, operate or ride upon a bicycle on any street or public highway in this Village, except in compliance with the following regulations:
A. 
Every bicycle shall be kept as close to the right-hand curb as possible.
B. 
When the operator of a bicycle intends to make a left turn at an intersection or into an alley or driveway, he shall make such turn from the right-hand curb after ascertaining that such turn can be safely made without interfering with other vehicles and indicating his intention by extending his left arm straight out, prior to and while making such turn.
C. 
Bicycles shall be operated in single file only.
D. 
No person riding upon a bicycle shall cling or attach himself or his bicycle to any other moving vehicle or sleigh. The operator of a bicycle shall not carry another person on such bicycle, except as provided in Subsection E below, nor shall any coaster, sled, person on roller skates, toy vehicle or other similar vehicle be attached to or towed or drawn by any bicycle.
E. 
No person under age 18 may convey another child on any bicycle; a person over 18 may convey a child only if such child is securely seated on a properly constructed and installed seat or platform.
F. 
No person operating a bicycle shall participate in any race, speed or endurance contest with any other bicycle or vehicle, except for a race, speed or endurance contest which is specifically approved or authorized by the Whitefish Bay Village Board or Village Manager.
G. 
No rider of a bicycle, while in motion, shall remove both hands from the handlebars nor his feet from the pedals nor practice any acrobatics or fancy riding.
H. 
Every person operating a bicycle shall obey all highway signs and all traffic signals.

I. 
Unattended bicycles shall be placed in an erect position and shall not obstruct vehicular or pedestrian traffic on any public highway or sidewalk. The word "sidewalk" as used in this subsection shall, in addition to the portion of the highway defined in § 340.01(58), Wis. Stats., include any space between the lot line and the building line which is improved as a sidewalk and ordinarily used for public travel.
J. 
Every rider of a bicycle shall, upon entering on a public highway, yield the right-of-way to motor vehicles.
K. 
Lights on bicycles. Every bicycle, operated upon a public highway or street in this Village during any of the time between 1/2 hour after sunset until 1/2 hour before sunrise, shall be equipped with a lamp on the front exhibiting a white light visible from a distance of at least 500 feet to the front and with a lamp on the rear exhibiting a red light visible from a distance of 500 feet to the rear, except that a red reflector approved by the Motor Vehicle Division of the State Department of Transportation may be used in lieu of a rear light.
