This article shall be entitled "Local Law No. 2 of the Year
2002 Amending the Term of the Town Supervisor of the Town of Lansing
pursuant to § 24-a of the Town Law." The term of office
of elective position of Town Supervisor of the Town of Lansing shall
be four years. Such four-year term shall commence on the first day
of January following the first biennial Town election after the effective
date of this article.
At the biennial Town election next following the effective date
of this article, and every four years thereafter, the Town Supervisor
shall be elected for a term of four years.
Pursuant to § 24-a of the Town Law, this article shall
supersede in its application to the Town of Lansing § 24
of the Town Law with respect to the terms of office of the elective
Town Supervisor.
This article was submitted for approval to the electors of the
Town of Lansing at the general Town election held on November 5, 2002,
and was approved by a majority of the electors voting thereon in accordance
with the requirements of § 27 of the Municipal Home Rule
Law.
