Any person desiring to open pavements, or excavate dirt streets,
within the corporate limits of the Village for the purpose of laying
or repairing sewer, water, gas or heating connections, or for any
other purpose, shall first obtain a written permit therefor from the
maintenance supervisor.

Any person so holding a permit as required in §
26-59 shall employ for said work such persons only as shall have been adjudged competent and so designated by the maintenance supervisor.

All openings and excavations made pursuant to this article shall
be closed in a manner satisfactory to the maintenance supervisor within
three days after said work has been completed.

All expense entailed in opening and closing pavements and streets, as directed in §
26-61, shall be borne by the person obtaining the permit.
