The "Marginal Way" is a pedestrian walkway extending along the Atlantic Ocean coastline from Perkins Cove north to Shore Road opposite Obeds Lane and from the end of Wharf Lane north to Beach Street opposite River Road. Besides these entrances, there are other access points from Frazier Pasture Road, Israel Head Road, Briar Bank Lane, Ontio Hill Road and Shore Road at the intersection with Israel Head Road.

No person shall operate or permit the operation of any wheeled vehicle, including bicycles and skateboards/in-line skates, on the Marginal Way. This shall not be construed so as to include wheelchairs, strollers or like vehicles.

Dogs are permitted on the Marginal Way from October 1 to March 31 if on a leash, cord or chain. Dogs are not permitted on the Marginal Way from April 1 to September 30.
