[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Edgewater Park as Title 8, Ch. 8.48, of the 1998 Township Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
A code defining and prohibiting certain matters, things, conditions or acts and each of them as a nuisance, prohibiting certain noises or sounds, requiring the proper heating of apartments, prohibiting lease or rental of certain buildings, prohibiting spitting in or upon public buildings, conveyances or sidewalks, authorizing the inspection of premises by an enforcing official, as may be designated by the Board of Health of the Township, providing for the removal or abatement of certain nuisances and recovery of expenses incurred by the Board of Health of the Township in removing or abating such nuisances and prescribing penalties for violations is established pursuant to Chapter 188, Laws of 1950.[1] A copy of said code is annexed to the ordinance codified in this chapter and made a part of this chapter without the inclusion of the text thereof in this Code.

The said code established and adopted by the ordinance codified in this chapter is described and commonly known as the "Public Health Nuisance Code of New Jersey (1953)."
Three copies of the said Public Health Nuisance Code of New Jersey (1953) have been placed on file in the office of the Clerk of the Township upon the introduction of the ordinance codified in this chapter and will remain there on file.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter or part thereof shall, upon conviction, be subject to the penalty in Chapter 1, Article II, General Penalty, of the Code of the Township of Edgewater Park.
