The harvesting of wild animals shall be permitted when it has
been determined by the Village Board that such harvesting is necessary
for proper game management or to protect persons, parks or other property
and would not pose a threat to health and safety in the area where
such harvesting shall take place. The allowance of such harvest shall
constitute an exercise of the Village’s police powers. Such
harvesting may only take place at such time, place and manner as the
Village Board may direct and shall be in compliance with all applicable
state and federal laws and regulations. The Village Board will draft
special rules to be followed for the duration of any animal harvest
within the Village of Balsam Lake. Harvesting of animals will only
be allowed within the Village of Balsam Lake by a permit issued and
approved by the Village Board. Harvesting of animals will be allowed
on public lands, and private land with permission of the landowner,
with a valid Village of Balsam Lake issued permit.
