Editor's Note: This local law was passed at a mandatory
referendum held on November 7, 1989.
This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Sardinia
Games of Chance Licensing Law."
A.
This chapter is subject and subordinate to all the conditions and
provisions contained in Article 9-a of the General Municipal Law and
amendments thereto and any and all rules and regulations and opinions
adopted or to be adopted by the New York State Gaming Commission.

This chapter shall apply to the entire Town of Sardinia.
A.
The words and terms used in this chapter shall have the same meanings
as such words and terms used in Article 9-a of the General Municipal
Law, unless otherwise provided herein or unless the context requires
a different meaning.
The Town Board of the Town of Sardinia, New York, hereby provides
that it shall be lawful for any authorized organization, upon obtaining
a license therefor as provided in Article 9-a of the General Municipal
Law, to conduct games of chance within the territorial limits of the
Town of Sardinia, subject to the provisions of this chapter.
During the conduct of games of chance, beer and/or wine may
be offered for sale, but the offering of all other alcoholic beverages
is prohibited on games-of-chance premises.
The conduct of games of chance on Sundays is authorized, except
as otherwise provided in Article 9-a of the General Municipal Law.
However, no games of chance shall be conducted on Easter Sunday, Christmas
Day or New Year's Eve.
This chapter shall take effect immediately after proper posting
and publication, as provided in the Town Law, in the event that, at
a referendum to be held at the general election in November 1989 for
the purpose of approving this chapter pursuant to the provisions of
law, a majority of the qualified electors of the Town of Sardinia
voting at said referendum shall approve the same by voting for the
proposition.
