(a) 
The Plan Commission shall set hours of operation for Village parks and public recreation areas.
(b) 
The Parks and Recreation Manager shall post signs giving notice of operational hours at all Village parks and public recreation areas.

(a) 
No person within the Village shall do any of the following within or upon any park or public recreational area operated by the Village:
(1) 
Intentionally mark, deface, disfigure, damage, displace or remove any structure, equipment, facility, or other park property, either real or personal, including trees, shrubbery, and landscaping.
(2) 
Bring or harbor any animals at any time, except as permitted pursuant to § 58-3, when assisting a disabled person, or for activities authorized by the Plan Commission.
(3) 
Have in their possession or under their control, or discharge, any weapon, as defined in § 54-1(a), except as specified in § 54-1(b)(1) and (2).
(4) 
Drive, operate, park, ride, or leave standing any vehicle, motor vehicle, motor-driven cycle, bicycle, or horse in or upon any park or public recreational area, except on established roads, ways, trails, and areas. Vehicles specifically designed to help handicapped individuals, which access park facilities or public recreational areas, are exempt from this subsection when individuals use those vehicles for such purposes. The Village prohibits snowmobiles, minibikes, go-carts, and all other unlicensed vehicles in parks and public recreational areas.
(5) 
Bring into or have in his possession, or consume, any intoxicating substance, except beer and wine, upon or in any park or public recreational area.
(6) 
Bring any glass container of any type into any park.
(7) 
Build or cause a fire of any kind except within areas designated for fires, in designated fireplaces provided for such purpose, or within portable grills in restricted areas if operators properly dispose of ashes.
(8) 
Enter any locked or closed-off building, or part thereof, or any area in or upon any park or public recreational area in disregard of posted signs or notices.
(9) 
Sell or vend any article or merchandise in any park or public recreational area without the written consent of the Plan Commission.
(10) 
Post any notice or sign in or upon any park or public recreational area within the Village without the written consent of the Plan Commission.
(11) 
Operate any soundtrack, loudspeaker, amplifier, motor, or other mechanical or electronic device that produces loud and undue noise in or upon any park or public recreational area without the written consent of the Plan Commission.
(12) 
Play softball, baseball, football or any other ball game or horseshoes, except at locations specifically designated for such purpose by the Plan Commission.

(a) 
The Village shall not permit any canine within 25 feet of any of the following within a Village park: public building, picnic shelter, splash pad, great lawn, athletic field/court, bleachers, playground structure, delineated beach, gazebo, Native American burial mound, and other locations posted by order of the Parks and Recreation Manager or their designee.
(b) 
The Village shall not permit any canine within any park facility or field enclosed by a fence; including but not limited to pickleball courts, ball fields, or any other fenced facility.
(c) 
Notwithstanding 58-2(a)(2), the Village permits canines on any park pathway notwithstanding their proximity to any public park building, picnic shelter, athletic field, or court whether in use or not, playground structure, or gazebo, unless temporarily posted otherwise by order of the Parks and Recreation Manager or their designee.
(d) 
Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the Plan Commission may authorize canines at events within a Village park. The event sponsor shall formally request permission for canines at their event(s). The event sponsor shall post reasonable signage giving notice whether the Village permitted canines at the event.
(e) 
All canines in Village parks shall always be under the direct control of a person by means of a physical nonretractable leash of no more than six feet always held by a person. The Village prohibits control utilizing radio collars.
(f) 
Any person bringing a canine onto park property shall immediately pick up and dispose of all waste from the canine. Such person shall carry bags, scoops, or other appropriate implements for waste removal while on park property.
(g) 
The restrictions imposed in this section shall not apply to service animals, as defined in state and federal law, assisting a person with disability and any canine assisting law enforcement personnel in their duties.

The Board of Appeals may grant a variance for a specified time to the restrictions set forth in this chapter.

Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to forfeiture as provided in § 1-15.
