This chapter shall be known and cited as the "Cross-Connection Control Law of the Town of Macedon, Wayne County, New York."
The purpose of this chapter is to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the Town of Macedon by establishing certain regulations to safeguard potable water supplies by preventing backflow into the public water system of the Town and to further protect the public water system of the Town from the possibility of contamination by isolating within its customers' internal distribution systems or its customers' private water systems such contaminations or pollutants which could backflow into the public water supply system of the Town. The regulations contained herein are to be reasonably interpreted, it being the intent of these regulations to recognize that there are varying degrees of hazard and to apply the principle that the degree of protection should be commensurate with the degree of hazard.
