This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Solid Waste
Ordinance of the Town of Macedon."
By the adoption of this chapter, the Town Board of the Town
of Macedon declares its intent to regulate, in a manner consistent
with the interests of the citizens of said Town of Macedon, the dumping
of garbage, rubbish, refuse and similar waste material on lands within
the Town. Therefore, recognizing the need of the community for an
adequate and well-regulated procedure for the disposal of garbage
and rubbish and in the exercise of its police power in these regards,
the Town Board of the Town of Macedon does hereby enact this chapter.
This chapter shall apply to dumping upon all lands, public or
private, within the Town of Macedon.
No person shall use any of the lands within the Town of Macedon
as a dump or dumping grounds, nor shall any person throw, dump, deposit
or place on such lands or cause to be thrown, dumped, deposited or
placed on such lands any solid waste materials or waste substances,
such as bottles, cans, garbage, refuse, rubbish, litter, tires, building
materials, or any nauseous or offensive matter, nor dispose or attempt
to dispose of any such materials, substances or matter by burying
the same on such lands, or burning or incinerating the same on such
lands, except as otherwise provided herein.

To protect the significant financial investment, the citizens of
the Town of Macedon have made in the closure of the Town Landfill
at 915 Quaker Road, the Town Board shall hereafter have the authority
to legally post the site as restricted access property, on which it
shall be illegal to trespass.
B.Â
The Town Board shall also be hereafter authorized to implement and
maintain reasonable and prudent security measures to prevent illegal
trespass on the property.
C.Â
Any persons found on the premises without the specific permission
or authorization of the Town Supervisor and/or Town Board shall be
guilty of a violation of this Code, as well as any other applicable
statutes, rules, regulations or codes.
Solid waste landfills shall be permitted in the Town of Macedon
only under the following conditions:
