This chapter shall be known as the "Three Oaks Township Zoning
Ordinance" and will be referred to herein as "this chapter."
The fundamental purpose of this chapter is to promote the public
health, safety, morals and general welfare; to develop and preserve
the natural beauty and aesthetic quality of the community to the end
that property values may be preserved; to encourage the use of lands
in accordance with their character and adaptability; to limit the
overcrowding of population; to promote adequate air and light; to
lessen congestion on the public and private roads and streets; to
reduce hazards to life and property; to facilitate adequate provisions
for a system of transportation, sewage disposal, safe and adequate
water supply, education, recreation and other public improvements
and services; to implement and carry out the purposes of the Land
Division Act, being Act 288 of 1967, as amended; to accomplish any other purposes contained
in the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, being Act 110 of 2006, as amended; and to conform with the most advantageous,
uses of land, resources and properties within the unincorporated portion
of Three Oaks Township, Berrien County, Michigan.
