Town of Palmer, MA Article IV Drainlayers

§ 240-14 Performing installations and repairs.

All building sewer installations and repairs shall be made by a contractor holding a current drainlayer's license issued by the Town.

§ 240-15 Qualifications for license.

Licenses will be issued only to experienced and competent contractors.

§ 240-16 Insurance and indemnification.

A. Drainlayer contractors shall maintain insurance as follows:

(1) Public liability: $100,000/$300,000;

(2) Property damage liability: $50,000/$100,000.

B. Drainlayer contractors shall file with the Town Manager a certificate of insurance with a "save harmless" clause (also called an "indemnity agreement") to the Town of Palmer. This clause must be written out on the contractor's insurance certificate.

§ 240-17 Bond; term of license.

Drainlayer contractors shall post a bond in the amount of $10,000 to guarantee the satisfactory completion of their work. Licenses are effective for one year from the date of the contractor's bond.
