There is hereby created the Office of Health Officer for the
Township of Muhlenberg.
The Health Officer shall have and possess all the powers and
perform all the duties provided for in the First Class Township Code.

The Township Tax Collector shall perform the duties set forth
in applicable law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Tax Collector
shall execute the powers and duties for such position established
in the Code of the Township of Muhlenberg, as amended from time to
time, and in conformance with all other applicable laws, including
the Local Tax Collection Law and the First Class Township Code.
The Tax Collector shall deposit all taxes collected immediately
into a savings account established for tax collection purposes. The
Tax Collector shall transfer funds to the Township once the deposits
have cleared and the total daily amount collected exceeds $5,000 and,
regardless of the deposits collected, on the last business day of
each week.
The Tax Collector shall, on or before the 10th day of each month,
make a true, verified statement, in writing, to the Township Manager
or the Township Manager's designee for all taxes collected during
the previous month, including the total amount of taxes received and
discounts granted and penalties applied, in conformance with the Department
of Community and Economic Development Tax Collector Manual and report
form.
The Tax Collector of the Township of Muhlenberg shall receive
for his duties as Tax Collector for the Township of Muhlenberg the
sum of $10,000 per annum for all moneys received by him or collected
by him for the Township of Muhlenberg. Annual compensation for the
Township Tax Collector shall be paid in monthly installments.
The Tax Collector of the Township of Muhlenberg shall be allowed
such actual printing and postage expenses as shall be incurred in
the performance of the duties prescribed as required by the First
Class Township Code and the Local Tax Collection Law. In addition,
the Tax Collector of the Township of Muhlenberg may be allowed such
other office equipment and expenses as the Township agrees, in its
discretion, to provide, including computers, insurance coverage, etc.
The Township shall establish the bonding requirement for the
Tax Collector and payment thereof by resolution of the Board of Commissioners
from time to time and pursuant to the Pennsylvania First Class Township
Code and all other applicable laws.
The Tax Collector shall assume full responsibility for the funds
and records of the Office of Tax Collector in his or her possession
or in the possession of any agent of the Tax Collector.
Hereafter, any Tax Collector whose term expires shall, after
the Tax Collector is released from his bond, deliver unto his duly
elected successor in office all records, papers and books received
by him from his predecessor or which he used and maintained for the
records of taxables, showing taxes received, and every other record
pertaining to the performance of his duties.
The Tax Collector may appoint one or more Deputy Tax Collectors
to assist the Tax Collector, subject to the approval of the surety
for the Tax Collector, the other taxing districts, and the approval
of the Township.
