The Township hereby adopts and will administer
and enforce the International Fire Code, 2018 revision, and any such
future revision or amendment thereof as is adopted by the International
Code Council. This article shall establish an annual license fee for
fire and safety of commercial and industrial premises and establishes
an annual fee in an amount as shall be established by resolution adopted
by the Muhlenberg Township Board of Commissioners for each commercial
and industrial premises in Muhlenberg Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
Any owner, licensee or occupant of the premises, as the case may be,
who shall fail to timely pay said license fee when due shall be required
to pay a late charge in an amount as shall be established by resolution
adopted by the Muhlenberg Township Board of Commissioners.

This article shall establish an annual license fee in an amount
as shall be set by resolution adopted by the Muhlenberg Township Board
of Commissioners to provide for fire and life safety inspections for
each commercial and industrial premises in Muhlenberg Township, Berks
County, Pennsylvania. Any owner, licensee, or occupant of the premises,
as the case may be, who shall fail to timely pay said license fee
when due, shall be required to pay a late charge in an amount as shall
be established by resolution adopted by the Muhlenberg Township Board
of Commissioners.

The owner of the premises or the licensee or
occupant of the premises shall obtain a license pursuant to this article
prior to the operation of the commercial or industrial premises or
business, and annually thereafter.

Each commercial and industrial premises shall
be inspected on a regular, periodic basis by Muhlenberg Township to
ensure compliance with the International Fire Code, 2018 revision,
and any such future revision or amendment thereof as is adopted by
the International Code Council.

The Township Manager and any duly designated
employee, official and/or agent of Muhlenberg Township shall be authorized
to administer and enforce this article, including but not limited
to the following:
B. Collection of
license fees.
D. Filing of citations
and issuance of enforcement notices for any violations.
