A tax upon real property within the Township of Muhlenberg, Berks County, Pennsylvania, shall be levied annually by ordinance or resolution, as provided in the First Class Township Code[1], which ordinance or resolution shall be maintained on file in the offices of the Township.

The rates of discount and penalties for the aforesaid real property taxes for road, bridge and general Township and fire-protection purposes be and hereby are established as follows: All taxpayers subject to the payment of such taxes shall be entitled to a discount of 2% from the amount of such tax upon making payment of the whole amount thereof within two months after the date of the tax notice. All taxpayers who shall fail to make payment of any such taxes charged against them for four months after the date of the tax notice shall be charged a penalty of 10%, which penalty shall be added to the taxes by the Tax Collector and be collected by him.
The above taxes are enacted under the provisions of "the Local Tax Enabling Act," December 31, 1965, P.L. 1275, § 1, as amended.[1]
