A code regulating the installation, maintenance, repair and
control of the plumbing of buildings and the connection thereof with
outside sewers, cesspools or other receptacles, regulating the practice
of plumbing and the issuance of licenses to practice plumbing, is
hereby established pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 275, P. L.
of 1948. A copy of the code is annexed hereto and made a part hereof
without the inclusion of the text thereof herein. The code established
and adopted by this chapter is described and commonly known as the
"Plumbing Code of New Jersey (Revised 1964) ".

Three copies of the "Plumbing Code of New Jersey (Revised 1964)
" have been placed on file in the office of the borough clerk and
will remain on file in such office for the use and examination of
the public.

In connection with the provisions of this chapter and the code
hereby established and adopted as part hereof, the following fees
shall be charged and received:
For the issuance of a new license as a master plumber, including
examination if required, ten ($10.00) dollars.
For annual renewal of license as master plumber, five ($5.00)
dollars.
For the filing of plans for a proposed plumbing work, two ($2.00)
dollars.
For the issuance of a permit for proposed plumbing construction,
alteration or replacement, a fee of one ($1.00) dollar per fixture,
provided, however, a minimum fee for a permit shall not be less than
two ($2.00) dollars.
For each reinspection of plumbing work caused by failure of
the licensee to comply with the provisions of the code or permit issued,
one ($1.00) dollar.

All fees and penalties collected under any provision of this
chapter or the code established herein shall be paid to the borough
clerk.

The office of the plumbing inspector is hereby created and the
official in charge shall be known as the plumbing inspector. The plumbing
inspector shall be appointed by the board of health for a period of
one year from the date of appointment and until such time as his successor
may be appointed and take office. The plumbing inspector shall be
paid an annual salary of fifty ($50.00) dollars, payable in the manner
determined by the board of health. The plumbing inspector shall receive
applications required by this code, issue permits and furnish the
prescribed certificates; be shall examine premises for which permits
have been issued and shall make necessary inspections to see that
the provisions of law are complied with and that work is performed
safely. He shall enforce all provisions of the plumbing code. The
plumbing inspector, in the discharge of his official duties, and upon
proper identification, shall have authority to enter into any building,
structure or premises at any reasonable hour. The plumbing inspector,
if not the same person named as building official by the mayor and
council of the borough, shall work and cooperate at all times with
the building official on the checking and supervision of all permits
given for plumbing, sewer, water and associated work by either or
both officials.
