The Board of Supervisors has evidenced its intent to participate in the Butler County District Attorney's Emergency Services Unit (hereinafter ESU) designed to coordinate tactical responses to critical incidents relating to hostage-related incidents, barricaded gunmen, school violence, terrorist acts, weapons of mass destruction, sniper ambush, civil disturbance, and high-risk warrant service.
The Board of Supervisors hereby adopts the agreement which provides the framework for municipal participation and cooperation with the District Attorney's ESU in cooperation with other participating municipalities under the terms and conditions of the agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto, made part hereof, and marked Exhibit A.[1]

The duration of the agreement shall be indefinite, subject to the provisions for withdrawal and termination as provided in the agreement.
The Chairman of the Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement and any and all appropriate documentation necessary to carry out the establishment and operation of the ESU.
This article shall become effective upon the execution of the agreement and enactment and approval of this article by the Board of Supervisors.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances which are inconsistent with the within ordinance are hereby repealed.
