[Adopted 4-22-1985 as
Article 37]
The purpose of this article is to meet the requirements for
administration and enforcement of the new State Uniform Fire Prevention
and Building Code. These requirements are outlined in § 381
of Article 18, State Executive Law.
Under the authority of § 381, Subdivision 2, of Article
18 of the State Executive Law, the Village of Adams hereby enacts
this article, prior to the first day of July 1983, providing that
it will not enforce the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code
on and after the first day of January 1984. The municipality herein
realizes that this article shall be in effect until it shall be repealed,
at which time the municipality shall administer and enforce the Uniform
Fire Prevention and Building Code immediately thereafter. The Village
of Adams also acknowledges the fact that by refusing to administer
and enforce the Uniform Code they may be allowing either the county
or state to enforce the Uniform Code on their behalf, and in their
community.
This article shall take effect with local passage and upon filing
with the Secretary of State and State Comptroller.
