It shall be unlawful for an owner to use or permit the use of any building or premises or part thereof hereafter created, erected, changed, converted or enlarged, wholly or partly, in its use or structure, until a certificate of occupancy has been issued by the Building Inspector in accordance with Chapter
50.
The Building Inspector shall maintain a record of all certificates,
and copies shall be furnished upon request to any person having a
proprietary interest in the building affected. Upon written request
from the owner and on payment by him to the Town of the appropriate
fee from the current fee schedule, the Building Inspector shall issue
a certificate of occupancy for any building or premises existing at
the time of enactment of this chapter, certifying, after inspection,
the extent and kind of use or disposition of the building or premises
and whether such use or disposition of the building or premises conforms
to the provisions of this chapter.
