Establishment; General Organization. There shall be a Department
of Administration, the head of which shall be the Borough Administrator.
The Department of Administration shall consist of the Divisions of:

General Organization; Director of Public Works. There shall be a
Department of Public Works, the head of which shall be the Superintendent
of Public Works. The Department of Public Works shall consist of the
Divisions of:

Division of Roads.

Division of Water and Sewers.

Division of Engineering.

Division of Recycling and Solid Waste.
5.
Division of Equipment Maintenance.
6.

b.
Mechanic's
Helper/Truck Driver.

1.
Creation of the position: There is hereby created the position of
Mechanics Helper/Truck Driver to be appointed by the governing body.
2.
Duties as set forth in the Job Specifications of the New Jersey Civil
Service Commission, to include but not be limited to:
(a)
Under the direction of Borough Mechanic may overhaul, adjust,
maintain and repair various types of motors and mechanical and motorized
equipment.
(b)
Helps tear down and assemble engines, transmissions and other
component parts.
(c)
Performs minor preventative maintenance inspections, and oils
and lubricates equipment.
(d)
Performs all types of tire repair and service in the shop or
field.
(e)
Completes minor preventative maintenance and other minor service
and inspections on all department equipment in the shop or field.
(f)
Completes service forms, reports and keeps simple records.
(g)
Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic
and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency,
office or related units.
(h)
Drives trucks with a gross vehicle weight rating of less than
26,000 pounds to pick up, haul, and deliver nonhazardous materials.
(i)
Receives written and/or oral assignments and drives trucks of
varied types including trucks used for road maintenance and construction
work and road oiling, snow plowing, and ice control work.
(j)
May assist with the repair and installation of snow plows and
spreaders.
(k)
Picks up, loads truck and delivers nonhazardous materials of
varied types.
(l)
Attends to minor repairs and adjustments on truck.
(m)
Keeps trucks supplied with gas, oil, and water; keeps garage
clean and in order, and keeps records of trips.
(n)
May make minor emergency repairs to trucks such as changing
tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, and tire chains.
(o)
Operates snow removal equipment to keep roads clear.
3.
Education. One year of experience in driving a truck with a gross
vehicle weight rating of less than 26,000 pounds.
4.
License: Possession of commercial driver's license (CDL) valid in
New Jersey and applicable endorsements for the class and type of vehicle
being operated.
5.
Salary range: $44,000 to $52,000 per year.
c.
Senior
Building Maintenance.

1.
Creation of the position: There is hereby created the position of
Senior Building Maintenance to be appointed by the governing body.
2.
Duties as set forth in the Job Specifications of the New Jersey Civil
Service Commission, to include but not be limited to:
(a)
Takes the lead over other building maintenance workers in the
performance of their duties.
(b)
Scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors using heavy (industrial
type) powered scrubbers and buffers.
(c)
Washes walls using a powered wall washing machine.
(d)
Vacuum cleans rugs using heavy (industrial type) vacuum cleaners.
(e)
Moves heavy furniture, supplies, and equipment.
(f)
Occasionally works on ladders to change light bulbs, replace
venetians blinds.
(g)
Deposits sweeping in trash cans.
(h)
Services water coolers.
(i)
Shovels snow from sidewalks and spreads salt on icy surfaces
to prevent slipping.
(j)
Ability to comprehend established cleaning and maintenance practices.
(k)
Ability to handle and control cleaning equipment and to lift
and move moderately heavy objects.
(l)
Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in
English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
3.
Experience. One year of experience in the cleaning and maintenance
of furniture, fixtures, offices, and buildings.
4.
Salary range: $47,000 to $54,000 per year.
d.
Maintenance
Repairer.

1.
Creation of the position: There is hereby created the position of
Maintenance Repairer for the Department of Public Works to be appointed
by the governing body.
2.
Duties as set forth in the Job Specifications of the New Jersey Civil
Service Commission, to include but not be limited to:
(a)
Under direction performs a variety of routine maintenance and
repair tasks involved in masonry, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electric,
mechanical and/or other types of maintenance work, maintains records.

Salary range: $50,000 to $60,000 per year.

There shall be a Department of Assessments, the head of which
shall be the Assessor.

There shall be a Department of Building. The head of the Department
shall be the Construction Official. The Department of Building shall
consist of the divisions:

There shall be a Department of Law, the head of which shall
be the Borough Attorney. The Department shall be responsible for the
Borough Attorney, Tax Appeal Attorney, and Special Counsel.

There shall be a Fire Department as provided in § 2-35 of this Code, entitled Fire Department.

There shall be an Emergency Response Unit as provided in § 2-36 of this Code, entitled Emergency Response Unit.

There shall be a Local Emergency Management Council. The Municipal
Emergency Management Coordinator shall be responsible for the planning,
activating, coordinating and the conduct of the emergency management
operations within the Borough.
