[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Somerville 5-1-78 as Ord. No. 841. Amended in its entirety 7-5-94 by Ord. No. 1173. Further amended in its entirety 1-21-97 by Ord. No. 2021. Further amendments noted where applicable.]
The Borough of Somerville, through its appropriate governmental
officials, is hereby authorized to enter into and execute the Inter-Municipal
Agreement for mutual police and fire aid with any other Somerset Country
participating municipality pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:8A-1 et seq. wherein
the Borough of Somerville, through its Chief of Police, shall be authorized
to provide police assistance and through its Fire Chief shall be authorized
to provide fire assistance to participating municipalities in accordance
with the terms and conditions of the Inter-Municipal Agreement for
mutual police and fire aid.
Contracts will be executed between the Borough of Somerville
and any other Somerset County municipality participating in this Agreement
which has also adopted an ordinance authorizing execution of this
Agreement.
A copy of the Municipal Aid Agreement will be available for
public inspection at the Somerville Municipal Building, Borough Clerk's
Office, 25 West End Avenue, Somerville, New Jersey.
