It shall be unlawful for any parent or guardian to assist, aid, abet, allow, permit, suffer or encourage a minor to register or enroll in the Somerville School System where the minor is ineligible to attend as a result of the minor's nonresident status.
It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly permit his or her name, address or other residence designating documentation to be utilized in the registration or enrollment of any nonresident student in the Borough of Somerville School System unless previous approval has been granted by the Superintendent of the Somerville School System or his or her designee.
Any person violating or failing to comply with any of the provisions of this Article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) days, or both, as deemed appropriate by the Somerville Municipal Court.
