There is hereby established within the Township of Fairfield
the Department of Engineering. The Municipal Engineer shall supervise
the operation of the Department, which contains the following divisions:

The Township of Fairfield Municipal Engineer of the Department
of Engineering, shall perform the following duties:
a.
Attend all regular meetings and work sessions of the Planning Board
and Zoning Board of Adjustment;
b.
Attend when required, meetings of the Mayor and Council;
c.
Examine subdivision plans and site plans, and make reports to the
Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment concerning same;
d.
Oversee the preparation of plans and specifications and the construction
of municipal improvements;
e.
Make recommendations to the Mayor and Council concerning Public Works
capital programs;
f.
Serve as the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment Secretary;
g.
Prepare capital improvement budget, and budgets for the Engineering
Department, Planning Board and Zoning Board.

A Division of Engineering of the Township of Fairfield is hereby
established within the Department of Engineering. It shall consist
of such Township employees as the Mayor and Council shall assign to
or appoint for its operation at such salary or rate of compensation
as shall be determined by ordinance.

A Division of Planning and Zoning is hereby established within
the Department of Engineering. It shall consist of such Township employees
as the Mayor and Council shall assign to it or appoint for its operation
at such salary or rate of compensation as shall be determined by ordinance.
