The Town voted to adopt a bylaw establishing a Council on Aging for the purpose of coordinating or carrying out programs designed to meet the problems of the aging in coordination with programs of the Department of Elder Affairs, all in accord with MGL c. 40, § 8B.

The Council shall submit an annual report to the Town and shall send a copy thereof to the Department of Elder Affairs of the commonwealth.
Council on Aging shall consist of seven members appointed by the Select Board who shall be voters and residents of the Town. They shall be appointed to staggered three-year terms.
The Council shall annually elect its Chairman and other officers as it deems appropriate.
