There shall be a Department of Senior and Social Services in the Township, the head of which shall be the Director of Senior and Social Services.

The Department shall be responsible for the planning, development, organization, coordination and administration of programs and activities for Township senior citizen and Township community social service needs.
b. 
The Department shall provide information and assistance to citizens who require aid in dealing with social or government networks.
c. 
The Department shall encourage and facilitate cooperation among the organizations that provide human and community services within the Township.
d. 
The Department shall investigate funding opportunities for services to client groups and if appropriate, prepare and administer grants for senior citizens and community social service needs.
e. 
The Department shall support the Senior Advisory Committee and other organizations that provide services to seniors.
f. 
The Department shall maintain the form of municipal administered welfare records.
g. 
The Department shall develop departmental goals and objectives in budget.

The Director of the Department of Senior and Social Services shall have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and should have a minimum of four years professional experience with responsibility for gathering social service and senior information and have knowledge of development of new programs or the identification of the existing programs to meet the needs of senior and social service groups. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
