Editor's Note: Former § 2-61, Agreement between the Borough of Allenhurst and the Borough of Interlaken to provide Police dispatch services, previously codified herein and containing portions of Ordinance No. 330, has been superseded by a shared services agreement with the Borough of Deal, dated August 10, 2010.

The Borough of Interlaken is currently a member of the Deal Lake Commission established in 1974 and which Charter extends for a period of 10 years; and the Borough of Interlaken is in receipt of an Agreement authorizing the extension of the term of said Deal Lake Commission for an additional 10 years; and an Agreement known as "An Agreement for the Creation of a Joint Meeting to be known as the Deal Lake Commission," pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:48B-1 et seq., comprising of the aforesaid municipalities, has been drafted and forwarded to the Borough of Interlaken for its approval, a copy of which Agreement is on file in the office of the Borough Clerk and is hereby incorporated herein by reference. The Borough Council has reviewed the Agreement and deems it in the best interests of the citizens of the Borough of Interlaken to extend the term of said Commission and remain a party thereto.

a. 
The Mayor and Borough Clerk be and are hereby authorized to execute an Agreement known as "An Agreement for the Creation of a Joint Meeting to be known as the Deal Lake Commission."
b. 
The Council Member or the alternate member of the Borough of Interlaken appointed to the Deal Lake Commission shall not vote to approve the budget of the Deal Lake Commission until such time as the Commission's proposed budget has been approved by resolution of the Borough Council.

a. 
The Borough of Interlaken shall continue to be a member of the Deal Lake Commission for a period of 10 years, expiring December 31, 2014, following adoption of this ordinance.[1]

b. 
The Mayor and Clerk be and they are hereby authorized to execute a contract with the Deal Lake Commission.
c. 
A copy of such contract shall be on file and available for public inspection in the office of the Borough Clerk during regular business hours.
d. 
The Borough of Interlaken can withdraw at its election without penalty.
