The Town of Secaucus requires that all commercial and residential
developers developing properties whereby road and infrastructure improvements
are planned pay for all municipal engineering inspections and administrative
costs of the Town of Secaucus in connection with inspections by the
Town Engineer and/or Construction Code Official. This fee is mandatory
unless waived by the Mayor and Council.
A.Â
Prior to any permit being issued by the Town of Secaucus for the
construction, renovation, demolition, or other activities, requiring
inspections by the Town Engineer and/or the Construction Code Official,
or Subcode Official, the owner of the property or applicant shall
pay into an escrow account established by the Town of Secaucus the
approximate costs of inspections of the construction site, renovation
site, demolition site, as the case may be, an amount consistent with
the following:

The deposit as required herein shall be paid in the manner required
by the Town of Secaucus and held in a noninterest bearing account
and disbursed as approved by the Mayor and Council. In the event that
the inspection costs are less than the amounts on deposit by the owner
or applicant, the difference shall be refunded to the owner or applicant,
if so requested by the owner or applicant, within 120 days of the
completion of the improvement/project.
It shall be required of the Town Engineer and the Construction
Code Official to tabulate all costs associated with the inspection
of the aforesaid subject improvements or infrastructure improvements
and keep the same on file with the Town of Secaucus and provide the
same to the owner or applicant as requested by the owner or applicant.
All payments to the Town Engineer shall be approved by the Mayor
and Council.
