Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 26:3-19, there is hereby created the office of Sanitary Inspector, who shall be appointed by the Board of Health and who shall serve for a term of one year to commence on the first day of January of the year of appointment.

The Sanitary Inspector shall receive such salary as is determined by the Board of Health, which salary shall be in lieu of all fees, costs and other allowances for services as Sanitary Inspector, and shall perform such functions and duties as shall be prescribed by law and assigned from time to time by the Board of Health.
