To provide certain safety standards for safe construction and
maintenance of structures and premises, the Life Safety Code 101,
2000 edition, promulgated by the National Fire Protection Association,
is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference insofar as said Code
does not conflict with State Statutes. This Code shall have the same
force and effect as if set forth verbatim herein. One copy of said
Code is on file with the City Clerk and is available for public inspection
during the Municipality's usual office hours. The provisions of said
Code shall be controlling throughout the Municipality and its zoning

for safe and fireproof installations and uses of materials, the NFPA-1,
Fire Prevention Code, 2003 Edition is hereby incorporated by reference
insofar as said Code does not conflict with State Statutes. This Code
shall have and be of the same force and effect as if set forth verbatim
herein. One copy of said Code is on file with the City Clerk and is
available for public inspection during the Municipality's usual office

procedures for inspection of structures, investigations, violations,
review of construction plans and establishment of fees, City of Ralston
Fire Prevention and Protection Code is hereby adopted and incorporated
by reference insofar as said Code does not conflict with State Statutes.
This Code shall have and be of the same force and effect as if set
forth verbatim herein. One copy of said Code is on file with the City
Clerk and is available for public inspection during the Municipality's
usual office hours. The provision of said Code shall be controlling
throughout the Municipality and its zoning jurisdiction. (Ref. 18-132,

The fire limits of the Municipality shall be the geographical
boundaries of the City of Ralston, Douglas County, Nebraska as from
time to time amended by annexation. The fire limits shall further
include any territory subject to contracts with rural fire district
or other contracts with political subdivisions.

It shall be the duty of the owner, lessee, or occupant of any
building or structure, except the interiors of private dwellings,
to allow the Fire Chief or Fire Marshal to inspect, or cause to be
inspected, as often as necessary the said structure for the purpose
of ascertaining and enumerating all conditions therein that are likely
to cause fire, or any other violations of the provisions of the Municipal
ordinances affecting the hazard of fire. (Ref. 81-512 RS Neb.)

It shall be the duty of the officials and teachers of all the
schools in the Municipality to cooperate with the Municipal Fire Department
in conducting fire drills in such number and at such times as the
Fire Chief shall prescribe; Provided, that at least one fire drill
shall be held each month. All doors and exits leading to the outside
of the school shall be kept unlocked during school hours.
