Fences, walls and hedges may be permitted in any required yard or along the edge of any yard, provided that no fence, wall or hedge shall exceed four feet in height in or along any front yard or in or along any side yard between the front property line and the front building setback line. No fence, wall or hedge shall exceed six feet in height in or along any rear yard or in or along any side yard between the rear property line and the front building setback line. A diagram illustrating these requirements shall be maintained on file in the Borough Office for review. See § 27-503.4D(2) in Chapter 27, Zoning, for applicable placements and height restrictions in the various districts of the Borough.

Any person who shall be convicted of failing to comply with the provisions of this Part before any Magisterial District Judge shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $600 per offense plus court costs and reasonable attorneys' fees incurred by the Borough in the enforcement proceedings. If the penalty is not paid, the Borough shall initiate a civil action for collection in accordance with the Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure. Each day a violation exists shall constitute a separate offense, and each section of this Part that is violated shall also constitute a separate offense. In addition to or in lieu of enforcement under this section, the Borough may enforce this Part in equity in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County.
