A. 
Whereas, the Board of Supervisors of this Township, pursuant to 53 P.S. § 66527, Act of May 1, 1933, P.L. 103, No. 69, as amended, has the authority to adopt ordinances necessary to secure the safety of persons within the Township;
B. 
Whereas, the Board of Supervisors of this Township, pursuant to Section 6109(a)(1) and (b) of the Vehicle Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Act of June 17, 1976, P.L. 162, as amended,[1] has the authority to, by ordinance, regulate or prohibit stopping;

C. 
Whereas, a multiway stop sign study for intersection of Airport Road (T-380) and Hershey Road (T-316)/Neil Road (T-381) dated January 10, 2020, has been prepared for Southampton Township by Brehm-Lebo Engineering Inc.;
D. 
Whereas, the study recommends that stop signs be installed at that intersection on the eastern and western approaches of Airport Road; and
E. 
Whereas, the Board of Supervisors believes that stop signs should be installed and are necessary on said section due to safety issues.
F. 
Now, therefore, be it enacted and ordained and it is hereby adopted by the Township as follows.
The intersections described in this section are hereby established as stop intersections, and official stop signs shall be erected in such a position upon the first-named street as to face traffic approaching the second-named street in the direction or directions indicated in said schedule. Every driver of a vehicle approaching any such intersection upon the first-named street, in the direction or directions indicated in each case, shall come to a full stop before entering any such intersection.

The Township is hereby authorized to place restrictive signs designating and advising of the stop signs in the area described in § 324-15 above in accordance with regulations of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
All other ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith shall be and the same are expressly repealed.
In the event that any provision, section, sentence, clause, or portion of this article shall be held to be invalid, such invalidity shall not affect or impair any remaining provision, section, sentence, clause or portion of this article, it being the intent that such remainder shall be and shall remain in full force and effect.
