The State of New Jersey has provided for the taxation and liability
for injuries caused by dogs in the laws of 1994 c.187, as amended.
The statute provides for a procedure for the registration of
a potentially dangerous dog under N.J.S.A. 4:19-30, which provides
for the registration of a potentially dangerous dog by the municipality
after the finding that a dog is potentially dangerous by a municipal
court.
N.J.S.A. 4:19-31 allows for the implementing of a fee for the
licensure of a potentially dangerous dog. The license fee shall be
$700 per year.
The Borough of Cape May Point desires to provide for such licensure
under the provisions of N.J.S.A. 4:19-23 et seq.

The Borough of Cape May Point shall publicize a telephone number
for reporting violations of N.J.S.A. 4:19-16 et seq. and shall forward
the same to the New Jersey Department of Health with any changes in
that number to be immediately reported to the New Jersey Department
of Health.
