Definitions. For the purpose of this chapter and in the interpretation
and application of all other ordinances and resolutions heretofore
or hereafter adopted by the City, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
Shall mean any Agency authorized to conduct business on behalf
of the City of Lambertville.
Shall mean the Small Municipality Plan of the Optional Municipal
Charter Law, Chapter 210 of New Jersey Laws of 1950, as amended and
supplemented, N.J.S.A. 40:69A-139 through 143, and any and all general
laws as therein defined which are or may be applicable to the City.[1]
Shall mean an organization unit or group of organization
units of the administrative branch of the City government so designated
by this Code.
Shall mean to file, codify, index or preserve.
Shall mean any person elected to, appointed to or employed
in any position defined by this Code.
Shall mean the City of Lambertville in the County of Hunterdon,
State of New Jersey.
Shall mean any office or place in the City of Lambertville
in which the functions of a public officer are performed and who has
been assigned a specific duty, task or role by the Mayor, which includes,
but is not limited to the Office of the Municipal Clerk, etc.
Shall mean and include corporations, firms, organizations,
companies, associations or any group acting as an individual or as
a unit.

Usage. The masculine gender shall include the feminine gender and
firms, bodies corporate, associations and other artificial persons,
where appropriate.

All ordinances and resolutions heretofore adopted by the City
and in force and effect on January 1, 1983, shall remain in full force
and effect to the extent that they are not inconsistent with the Charter
or with this Code.

All ordinances and parts of ordinances heretofore enacted which are
inconsistent with any provision of the Charter or of this Code are,
to the extent of such inconsistency, hereby repealed.
b.
The repeal of any ordinance or part thereof by the Charter or by
this Code or by any other ordinance shall not revive any former ordinance
or part thereof which may have been repealed by such repealed ordinance
or part thereof.
