Every person who sells or offers for sale any goods, wares and merchandise from any stand, shelf, table, box or other contrivance, or from any parked vehicle of any kind, or who shall go from place to place for the purpose of soliciting orders or sales or sell any goods, wares, and merchandise, or shall sell or offer for sale any goods from any temporary establishment, which shall also mean, any goods, services or merchandise sold or provided that is located in or on the premises of a firm or company, and is not a part of said firm or company's daily operation or a bona fide part of that firm (such as photos and demonstration sales etc. sold or provided on sight or by phone solicitation), shall be deemed peddlers within the provisions of §§
5-67 to
5-76 of this chapter, and shall be governed by all such provisions.

1. It shall be unlawful and an offense for any person to violate or
allow another to violate any of the following provisions.
a. To peddle, sell, or solicit any goods, wares, merchandise, or contribution
without a valid City of Weatherford solicitor's license or permit
in his/her immediate possession at any location within the limits
of the City of Weatherford.
b. To refuse or fail to produce for inspection the solicitor's license
or permit upon request by any person or a member of the Police Department.
c. To provide any false information needed to complete the license or
permit application.
d. To solicit or attempt to solicit at any location where any sign is
displayed that prohibits solicitation.
2. Violations of the above shall be punished as provided in Chapter
9, §
9-31 of the Code of the City of Weatherford.
At any place other than where peddling is expressly prohibited,
it shall be unlawful for any person in the peddling of any goods,
wares and merchandise to set up a stand or other contrivance or to
park a vehicle of any kind for a longer period than 30 minutes when
the purpose of the same is the vending of goods, wares and merchandise.
Provided that the owner or lessee of any lot not within the fire limits
who desires to build thereon any stand or other contrivance or park
any vehicle for the purpose of vending goods, wares, or merchandise,
shall first procure a license as herein required, provided that such
license shall be issued only after conclusive proof that none of the
following conditions exist, to wit:
1. That traffic is not impaired by obstruction of view or otherwise.
2. That such structure shall not be unsightly.
3. That the establishment or its operation shall not be a nuisance to
the immediate neighborhood or the public generally.
4. That the premises shall be kept clean and sanitary.
5. That all foods or drinks shall be kept free from flies, insects,
and dust.
6. That no trade shall be solicited by extraordinary sounds or loud
voices, of a nature or character which would not ordinarily occur
in its absence, or which would be a nuisance.
All licenses issued for any stand or fixed establishment for
the purpose of peddling goods, wares, and merchandise may be revoked
at any time on breach of condition or on complaint in writing by any
neighbor living, residing, or rooming within 300 feet of same. No
peddling or soliciting of any kind is allowed after 7:30 p.m.

1. Each and every peddler, salesman, and solicitor as heretofore or
herein defined shall make application to the City for a solicitor's
license or permit. The application form shall be designed by the City
and shall include at minimum the following:
a. The name of the firm, company or corporation the applicant is employed
by or representing.
b. The full name, address, date of birth, and social security number
or driver's license number of the applicant.
c. The phone number of the applicant's employer.
d. An area on the application for the placement of a photo of the applicant
and/or a photocopy of the applicant's valid official state photo identification
card or valid driver license.
e. The date or dates the solicitor's license or permit is valid.
f. A brief description of the type of goods, wares, merchandise or contribution
the applicant intends to sell or receive.
g. The date of the application.
h. The application shall bear a unique number.
2. A solicitor's license or permit may be revoked or denied for a violation of the provisions of §
5-68 of this chapter or for failure of the applicant to provide any and all information needed for the application.
3. Each and every peddler, salesman, and solicitor as heretofore or
herein defined shall pay the following license fee respectively after
first obtaining a permit from the Oklahoma Tax Commission, which shall
be presented as proof before the application is allowed.
a. $100 for a one day permit.
b. Additional increment permits of 10 days each at $50 per increment,
allowed up to a total of 90 additional days for each solicitor. Such
permits will be renewable.
4. Solicitors are required to check in at the Police Department prior
to soliciting door to door for identification purposes.
5. Solicitors shall be required to carry their permit with them at all
times while soliciting.
6. Solicitors are prohibited from soliciting at any residence or place
of business displaying any type of "no solicitation" sign.
