This Chapter shall govern the organization and operation of the Municipal Court of the City of Weatherford, as put into operation by resolution duly passed on the 30th day of January, 1969, and filed in accordance with law, as authorized by Title 11, Oklahoma Statutes 1991, Section 27-101 to 27-132, and any amendments thereto. To the extent of conflict between any provisions of this Chapter and the provisions of any other ordinance of the city, the provisions of this Chapter shall control.
As used in this article, unless the context requires a different meaning, the following words shall mean:
1. 
COURT – Shall mean the Municipal Court of the city.
2. 
JUDGE – Shall mean the Judge of the Municipal Court, or any acting judge, as provided for by the statutes of this state, and this Chapter.
3. 
MUNICIPALITY OR THIS MUNICIPALITY – Shall mean the City of Weatherford.
4. 
CLERK OF THE COURT – Shall mean the chief municipal court officer, including any deputy or member of the office staff of the court clerk while performing duties of the court clerk's office.
5. 
GOVERNING BODY – Shall mean the Board of Commissioners of the city.
6. 
CHIEF OF POLICE – Shall mean the peace officer in charge of the police force of the municipality.
7. 
THIS JUDICIAL DISTRICT – Shall mean the district court judicial district of the State of Oklahoma, wherein the government of this municipality is situated.
The Court shall exercise original jurisdiction to hear and determine all prosecutions wherein a violation of any ordinance of the city is charged, including any such prosecutions transferred to the Court in accordance with applicable law.
