Any person who violates any provision of this Chapter, by doing any act prohibited or declared to be unlawful thereby, or who fails to do any act when such provision declares such failure to be unlawful or to be an offense, or who violates any legal order or regulation made pursuant to this Chapter, or who maintains any nuisance as defined in this Chapter, is guilty of an offense, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine and costs as provided for in Section 9-31 of this Code. Each day on which any such violation shall continue shall be deemed a separate offense.
