A. 
Reconnection Of Water Service After Disconnection. If the City of Merriam Woods disconnects water usage to a home or commercial building and the public water system is then reconnected in a manner prohibited by any City ordinance, then the owner and/or the renter shall be in violation of this Section.
B. 
Penalties. Any person in violation of Subsection (A) of this Section shall be subject to immediate arrest under any charge pursuant to Sections 210.1030, 210.1040, 210.1060, and 210.1110 of the Merriam Woods City Code. Further, said person may be punished as set out in Section 100.220. Each day a home or commercial building is reconnected in a manner prohibited by the City shall constitute a separate violation under this Section.

A. 
Unauthorized Persons. No unauthorized person shall purposely, maliciously, willfully, or negligently break, damage, destroy, uncover, deface, or tamper with any structure, appurtenance, or equipment, which is part of the public water system.
B. 
Penalties. Any person in violation of Subsection (A) of this Section shall be subject to immediate arrest under any charge pursuant to Sections 210.1030, 210.1040, 210.1060, and 210.1110 of the Merriam Woods City Code.
C. 
Definitions. As used in this Section, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
TAMPER
To meddle so as to alter a water meter, tag and seal, and/or lock, especially to make illegal, corrupting or perverting changes; to interfere improperly; to illegally change.
UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS
Any person, including any owner, or renter of real property located within the Merriam Woods City, and not having the written authority from the City of Merriam Woods.

A. 
The owner of every residential or commercial building constructed or installed after the effective date of this Section shall be required to install a water shut off valve and a backflow prevention device.
B. 
All water shut off valves and backflow prevention devices shall be installed in accordance with the written specifications and instructions provided by Merriam Woods City and shall be inspected by the City Building Inspector prior to the issuance of the occupancy permit by the Building Inspector.
C. 
Failure of the owner to install the shut off assembly and/or backflow prevention device in the manner required in Subsection (A) or (B) shall result in the property owner being deemed guilty of an ordinance violation. Each day a violation is allowed to continue shall be considered a separate violation. Violators of this Section are subject to the penalty set out in Section 100.220.
