Editor's Note: Schedule A, Speed Zones, is included as an attachment to this chapter.
[Ord. of 12-4-1972]
The traffic engineer is authorized, subject to the Maine Department of Transportation and state police approval, to regulate the timing of traffic signals so as to permit the movement of traffic in an orderly and safe manner at speeds slightly at variance from the speeds otherwise applicable within the district or at intersections and shall erect appropriate signs giving notice thereof.
[Ord. of 12-4-1972]
Upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation, the maximum speed limits as determined in Schedule A of this chapter are hereby determined and declared reasonable and safe on streets or parts of streets designated therein when signs are erected giving notice thereof. Said separate Schedule A may be revised or amended as necessary.
