[Adopted as Ch. 2.44 of the 1997 Code]
There is created the Board of Health for the City, which shall consist of the Mayor, who shall be Chairman thereof, all the members of the City Council, the City Clerk, who shall be secretary of such Board, and such other members as the Mayor and Council shall, from time to time provide for and appoint.
A. 
The Board of Health shall have the powers and perform the duties assigned to it by statute or ordinance. It shall be the duty of the Board of Health to enforce all ordinances of the City which relate to public health, or relate to nuisance.
B. 
The Board of Health shall make all necessary rules and regulations for the protection of the health of the inhabitants of the City and to guard against the spread of contagious diseases, and to prevent by necessary rules the diseases, contagious or otherwise, within the corporate limits of the City.
A. 
The Board of Health is authorized to make such reasonable rules as may be necessary regarding quarantine and vaccination, for the prevention and spread of contagious diseases, and to quarantine premises where such diseases occur for such time as may be necessary to protect public health.
B. 
The Board shall have the power to prevent persons from entering or leaving premises on which a case of contagious or epidemic disease occurs or is found, and to placard the same with signs indicating the nature of such disease and the existence of the quarantine.

Any person violating any order of the Board of Health or refusing to obey any such order or destroying, mutilating or concealing any notice posted by or under the authority of the Board of Health shall be fined not less than $100 nor more than $750 for each offense.
